Ocean Films Buoy Documentary Series
Laguna Beach Film Festival is launching a three month-long ocean awareness documentary film series the fourth Friday of each month, beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25 at the Forum Theater, 693 Bluebird Canyon Dr.
Wyland’s “Blue Planet” will kick off the series and the marine life muralist will be available after the screenings to answer questions.
Prepaid tickets are $15. Tickets will also be sold at the event.

Pianist Nikos Syropolous performs at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30 as part of the Laguna Beach Live! winter series at Aliso Creek Inn, 31106 S. Coast Highway.
A two-time recipient of the ASCAP Foundation Young Jazz Composer Award, Syropolous is sought after for his beautiful touch, creativity and versatility.
Now 23, Syropolous, a graduate of USC’s Thornton music school, surprises audiences with his unique blend of jazz improvisation and classical chamber music.“His music is a tonic to the toxins of today. He actually gives me hope for tomorrow’s music,” said jazz drummer and USC instructor Peter Erskine.
