Girls Sand Volleyball (4-0, 3-0)

Breakers picked up a pair of victories returning to action last week. On Tuesday, April 10, the varsity and JV squads all defeated JSerra on the Newland Street Courts in Huntington Beach.

Varsity: Sophomores Peri Brennan and Piper Naess won 21-3, 21-11; junior Kylee Matheson and sophomore Cambria Hall won 21-6, 21-13; sophomore Soren Patchell and freshman Jackie Strawn won 21-5, 21-5.

JV: Freshmen Amelie Sadler and Alessandra Nitoglia won 21-8, 21-9; freshmen Bella Mullin and Shanti Nunn won 21-16, 21-13; sophomore Madison Rogers and freshman Mikayla Smith won 21-8, 21-17.

On Thursday, April 12, they traveled to San Diego County to face Carlsbad one of the top teams in the 32-team San Diego league that is now in their sixth season.

Varsity, 2-1 win: senior Lexi McKeown and junior Kylee Matheson lost 16-21, 18-21; sophomores Piper Naess and Hallie Carballo won 21-10, 21-9; sophomores Cambria Hall and Soren Patchell won 16-21, 21-18, 15-13.

JV, 2-1 win: freshmen Emma Bladergroen and Lucky Hauer won 21-9, 21-15; sophomores Lizzy Cismoski and Izzy Meekma won 22-20; freshmen Luisa LoFranco and Lucky Hauer lost 14-21.

Boys Volleyball (9-5, 4-0)

Laguna continued to roll through league play last week with a pair of home match sweeps.

On Tuesday, April 10, they defeated Saddleback 25-18, 25-15, 25-12 with Andrew Reavis and Josh McManus leading in kills with nine while Geste Bianchi, Joseph Colliday, and Guy Thomas added eight kills each.

McManus had 14 digs while Thomas recorded 15. On Thursday the Breakers finished off Estancia 25-18, 25-11, 25-18 for their 93rdstraight league match win. Sam Burgi was the kill leader with eight while Geste Bianchi recorded seven kills and seven service aces. Breakers now lead the all-time series with the Eagles at 56-4.

Breakers faced their toughest league foes this week when they traveled to Calvary (16-3) and Godinez (14-5).
