A Proposal for Senior and Low Income Housing

Editor,

When I ran unsuccessfully for City Council, I stated that a government budget was a moral statement regarding what our City Council considers important enough to fund.

I want to now present the proposal that building codes can also provide insight to what our leaders consider important.

The mayor of New York City has proposed changing his city’s zoning laws to encourage construction of senior and low income housing units, and I think his ideas should be easy to implement in Laguna Beach

The two parts I would take from his three-part plan that would be easy to institute, if our City Council really does care for the two mentioned groups of citizens, regard parking requirements, and more flexibility allowed regarding the construction of these senior and low income housing units.

I can only lead our City Council to water. It is for them to decide whether to drink the water!
