Painting for the Soul, a new one-day workshop series in Laguna Beach presented by mandala artist Kristi Smith and intuitive painter Arna Vodenos, is scheduled for Sunday, March 13, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The day-long workshop gives the participant the opportunity to journey to their soul, using color as a vibrational tool for healing and clarity. The cost is $125.00 plus a $25.00 material fee. This workshop series will be offered twice a month on a Saturday and a Sunday.

Artist Lectures About His Flock

Laguna Art Museum will host a lecture and walk-through with Laguna Beach artist and professor Brad Coleman at 1 p.m., March 20.

His conceptual drawings, 12 40 x 40 inch sheep drawings in addition to pastoral still lifes, are featured in a current exhibition.

This event is free for museum members and free for non-members with paid admission. No reservations are necessary.

On the ‘LAM’ to Ojai and Santa Barbara

The Laguna Art Museum’s Contemporary Collectors’ Council is organizing a two-day art trip to Ojai and Santa Barbara on April 9 and 10. Accompanied by Laguna Art Museum’s curator of exhibitions Grace Kook-Anderson, the group will spend a weekend immersed in each city’s cultural scene, including a museum tour and visits to private collections and artists’ studios.

The group will go by Amtrak train that is met by a chartered bus in Ventura for transportation to Ojai and Santa Barbara.

The cost is $290 to $390 per person, which includes transportation, lunches and events. Dinner and lodging are not included. LOCA Hosts Sea Lion Workshop

Laguna Outreach for Community Arts is now taking reservations for an “Art and Sea Lions” class from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, at the Pacific Marine Mammal Center in Laguna Canyon. This beginner-level activity features a docent-led tour of the center, and a view of live sea lions undergoing rehabilitation.

Following the tour, instructor Liz McGhee will lead participants in creating a sea lion paperweight.
