Baseball (19-10, 14-1) League Champions

Two throwing miscues in the fourth inning sparked a three-run comeback for Tahquitz High School from Hemet as the Titans held on to defeat the Breakers 3-1 on Thursday, May 17, at Skipper Carrillo Field.

Laguna took an early 1-0 lead as Eric Silva doubled in the first inning and came home off a Cutter Clawson single, but the Breakers could only muster three more hits after that. Jack Loechner and Blake Burzell teamed up on the pitching. Burzell had four strikeouts to tie Steve Shapard (1967-69) for the career strikeout record at 206. Burzell already holds the career wins (25) and innings (213).

Jack Loechner finished his career fourth in innings pitched, sixth in strikeouts and tied for third in wins with 20.
