Kyle Sharp fired a 76 in the Southern Section CIF individual finals Thursday, May 17, at Rancho San Marcos in the Santa Ynez Valley. He finished in the top 28 individuals and advanced to the State tournament qualifier, which was to be held Thursday, May 24, at Brookside in Pasadena.
Sharp’s finish was the best performance in CIF Individuals since 1957 when Tom Thompson and Dick Martinez tied for eighth. The state regional contest will include 64 individuals from the Central, Southern, San Diego, and Los Angeles CIF sections with only nine advancing to the state finals, which are to be held Wednesday, May 30, in San Gabriel.Firebrand Media LLC wants comments that advance the discussion, and we need your help to accomplish this mission.
