Handcrafted bowls donated by gifted artisans with a social conscience will be auctioned in Laguna Beach at the Fourth Annual World Hunger Bowl on Saturday, Nov. 3, which will take place at The Aliso Creek Inn and Golf Course, 31106 Coast Highway.
Part of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, Nov. 1-7, the event is sponsored by the city’s Housing and Human Services Committee, which began a food collection drive this week to replenish the Laguna Food Pantry. Place a bag or box marked “Food Drive” at curbside on regular trash days through Oct. 26 and Waste Management will send trucks to pick up donations.
All hunger bowls are now available for online bidding at www.WorldHungerBowl.org.
Admission provides patrons with five gourmet soup tastes and accompaniments from restaurant sponsors K’ya, French 75, Watermarc, Sapphire, Mozambique, The Sun Dried Tomato and Nirvana Grille. Expect dessert and music too.
Advance tickets are at www.worldhungerbowl.org or by calling Faye Chapman at 949-280.-2855. Tickets also available at the door.
