Laguna siblings Kira and Teague Hamilton played against the Irvine doubles team of Noor Tomay Shepers and Alex Tran.

Teague Hamilton, who plays singles for Laguna Beach High School’s varsity Team, finished off the spring tennis season in strong fashion.

After achieving his personal his goal of winning every match in the team’s 2011 run to the CIF championships finals as well as winning the West Coast Open tournament over Memorial Day weekend, he also was crowned champion at the Laguna Niguel Junior Open Tennis tournament on June 17.

He advanced through the tournament without dropping a set, winning the final match over Chase Masciorinni, 6-4, 6-4.  It was an exciting match for the two 15-year olds, who last met in the second round of the CIF individual tournament, where Teague was also victorious.

They will have more opportunities to compete against each other in the next two years in both USTA tournaments and with their high school teams. Chase plays for Dana Hills.

Teague then teamed up with his sister Kira, an incoming LBHS freshman, to play the 16-and under mixed doubles.  In another tight but friendly match which lasted over two hours, Teague and Kira came two points shy of winning, losing in a third set tie-breaker to Woodbridge High’s varsity players Noor Tomay Shepers and Alex Tran (3-6, 7-6, 10-8).
