Carl Brown’s free Yoga in the Park classes will start its sixth year in a new permanent home in the public park at the Montage resort, he announced.

Classes have moved from Heisler Park, its renovations recently completed. “We waited until after the construction at Heisler was finished to make this decision,” Brown said. “The new area in Heisler park at the new amphitheater is wonderful, however it puts most students on the grass which is problematic for many students. We gave it a try, but the Montage public park offers a better site. It has a great flat area that offers a very tranquil setting for the class. It can accommodate pretty much an unlimited number of students, all with a clear view of the instructor, not to mention having the ocean on three sides.”

As always the classes are a free community service that Brown offers. Its format is the same, a strong Vinyasa style class that has a Power Yoga base.

Classes are Monday through Thursday and Saturday, always at 8 a.m. At the Saturday class a small donation ($5) is suggested, all funds go to the Himalayan Children’s Fund for the education of women. Yoga in the Park currently supports 10 girls in Nepal with their education.
