LBHS Varsity Cheer, under the direction of Yvette Perez, took away four first place awards recently at a cheer camp at Loyola Marymount University.
The team, made up of two seniors, two juniors, four sophomores and seven freshmen, is led this year by captains Megan Cavanaugh, Kate Monahan and Sharlene Zarrabi.
The 15-girl squad recently wrapped up conditioning and practice sessions to prepare for the upcoming football season.
To help defray uniform, equipment and competition costs, the team is currently seeking sponsorships from the community at the $250, $500 or $750 levels. The sponsor’s logos will be displayed at Guyer Field at home games that begin Sept. 7.
