A Vigil for Grievers
Laguna Beach mother Amii Schenk, owner of Little Bohemian kids shop, invites locals to join her in a candlelight vigil for those lost in the Connecticut tragedy at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 22, at Main Beach.
Locally Grown Seedlings for Sale
Transition Laguna’s food group will be selling vegetable seedlings at the farmers market this Saturday, Dec. 22.
Available organically grown seedlings include potatoes, strawberries, herbs, kale and garlic ready for plantings.
The group’s booth is located at the back of the market on Local’s Lane.
Restocking Laguna’s Pantry
Providing food monthly for hundreds of local families, Laguna Food Pantry seeks public donations, promising that for every $10 donated, 120 pounds of food can be purchased and distributed to those in need.

Tidepool Docents Needed
The Laguna Ocean Foundation’s Tide-Water Docent program is looking for volunteers to help educate residents and visitors about the ecology in Laguna’s protected tidepools.
Docents spend time at Crescent Bay, Shaw’s Cove, Hiesler Park, Wood’s Cove, Goff Island and Treasure Island, which are all part of the Laguna Beach State Marine Reserve. To qualify as a docent, individuals must attend one formal hour-and-a-half training session as well as on-the-job field training at the tidepools led by a professional educator.
The next docent training will take place at Newport Beach’s Back Bay Science Center at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 9.
