Laguna Beach Cub Scouts Pack 35 celebrated the advancement of nine Cub Scouts to Boy Scouts in the Arrow of Light Ceremony during the Blue and Gold Dinner held recently at the Laguna Presbyterian Church.  The dinner celebrates the founding of Boy Scouts of America and the Arrow of Light awards are the highest honor in Cub Scouting.

Cub Scouts were awarded Native American arrows called Cub Scout Career Arrows which are painted to show awards each boy has earned during his Cub Scout years.  The ceremonies team of the Tenaja Chapter of the Order of the Arrow, Austin Adamson, Spencer Bateman, and Peter Kinsella, led the Arrow of Light ceremony in Native American costume, telling the story of the younger boy’s growth to become Boy Scouts.

Boys were also recognized in Tiger through Webelo dens with awards, badges and honors earned so far this scout year. Bear Den boys, in second and third grade, fulfilled one of their Bear advancement requirements by baking cookies and cakes for dessert.
