I’m not voting for Bob Whalen or Steve Dicterow because they wanted to build a $50 million three-story car park at our farmers market. They kept throwing large sums of money paid to consultants even in the face of growing community outrage. OMG Bob and Steve are still talking about adding parking structures ‘wily-nilly’ and specifically in the so-called village entrance.
Apparently they believe if they have just the right amount of parking spots it will save our downtown from carmageddon. Bob and Steve are seemingly auto-centric, meaning parking is more important than to them than prosperity, safety, charm, beauty, or preserving and enhancing our world class downtown.
Auto-centric land planning was beginning to fail in the 1970s. Bob and Steve evidently are not abreast of current land planning trends. If you want more and more cars in the center of town, vote for Bob and Steve. If you want to preserve and enhance our downtown, vote for Verna and Judie.
