Laguna Beach’s Festival of Arts Foundation recently awarded $2,000 grant to ART4KIDS, Inc., a nonprofit that provides art materials for children in distress and works with Laguna Beach agencies including the Laguna Beach Community Clinic, CSP Youth Shelter, La Playa Center and Even Start Preschool.
ART4KIDS, Inc. founder Pam Schader started the organization as a means of helping children process the events of Sept. 11, 2001. “One way to begin to heal from trauma is through making art – externalizing the image of distress and moving it out. Art saves lives.”
