A self-guided walking tour of eight of Laguna’s secret gardens takes place Friday, May 3 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $45 in advance. A limited number of tickets may be available the day of the tour for $50 at registration at Laguna Nursery.

A ticket includes admittance to eight gardens described on the detail-packed tour brochure, round trip shuttle bus transportation from the registration area to the tour route, homemade refreshments and a raffle.

The tour of Lombardy Lane and surrounding neighborhood, just below Temple Terrace, offers not only an opportunity to stroll through private gardens but also views of heritage trees and imaginative and historical architecture on little known lanes. A cluster of “Transition Laguna” vegetable gardens, a celebration of California’s varied growing zones and an enchanting fairy hideaway will all be on display.

The route is less than a mile on paved streets, mostly downhill, without dedicated sidewalks. Gardens may have uneven steps and paths. Comfortable walking shoes are essential.

As a nonprofit organization, $35 of the ticket price is tax deductible.

Tickets are available at Laguna Drug, 239 Broadway; Laguna Nursery, 1370 S. Coast Hwy; Dana Point Nursery, 34100 Pacific Coast Hwy, Dana Point; by mail, P.O. Box 362, Laguna Beach, CA, 92651; and online at lagunabeachgardenclub.org.
