Gratitude for Beautiful Words

Editor,

This comment is for David Vanderveen, in response to Local Current’s column “Social Harmony,” March 18.

Your thoughts and words were beautiful. Here are a few of my favorites: the words “Social harmony”; in regards to the Japanese culture, internal peace is a cultural commitment where “keeping harmony in relationships is more important than winning deals”; and, finally, “civility and respect” for each other.

We cannot forget that our ultimate purpose for being here is to give the gifts we have been given, hold each other up, and pass the torch of wisdom and experience along with our virtues to the next generation (after we have been through the school of hard knocks, of course), whether it be our bloodline or mentoring in our community. “Legacy…”

Thank you for expressing your thoughts.
