Harman Tapped as Leader of Rules Committee

State Sen. Tom Harman, a Republican from Huntington Beach, was tapped on the first day of the new legislative session to serve as vice chairman of the Senate Rules Committee.

The committee screens gubernatorial appointments and proposed amendments and rules that govern the business of the State Legislature.

Harman represents the 35th Senate District, which includes the coastal region including Laguna Beach. As vice chairman, he will be the point person for legislative Republicans to ensure their legislative priorities are allowed fair and open debate.
