Laguna Beach High School junior Taylor Pitz was selected for the 12-member traveling PacSun USA Surf Team for the 2010 Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championships, in the girls under 18 division. The championships will be held Jan. 18 to 28 in Piha, New Zealand.

What started out as a group of the 20 best under-18 year old surfers in the mainland United States was whittled down to the 12 who will actually travel and compete in the January event.

This is Pitz’s third year on the USA team. She is also a three-year member of the LBHS Surf Team where she has been the South Coast League Girl’s shortboard champion for the past two years and the team MVP for three years.
