Local music promoter Tightrope Entertainment has teamed up with world-champion skimboarder Bill Beaker Bryan to create Locals Wednesday at Ocean Avenue Brewery, 237 Ocean Ave.
Musicians perform live while Bryan’s 10th Street Bros.’ skimboarding video is shown and local artist John Chaney paints live and displays artwork for sale on a corner of the patio, a makeshift artist’s studio.
Beyond the art, entertainment and imbibers enjoying beers brewed in-house, Locals Wednesday is starting to become a place for community building, such as planning relief efforts for victims of the hurricane in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Donations are being accepted at Madison Square & Garden Café, 320 N. Coast Hwy.

Laguna Beach resident Gary Greene performs as two characters in “Calamity Jane The Musical,” opening at Camino Real Playhouse, 31776 El Camino Real, San Juan Capistrano, on Friday, Sept. 26. The show runs through Oct. 12.
