Laguna Beach native Michael Lewis won the touring class race in the Pirelli World Challenge at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Ct. on Saturday, May 26. Lewis qualified third fastest in a field of 14 race cars, which placed his No. 98 Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai i30 N TCR car in the third starting position for the first TCR race of the Grand Prix of Lime Rock. He finished the race in third place but set the fastest time of the race, which placed him on the pole position for the second race.
When the green flag flew to begin race 2, Lewis launched from the front of the field and held off competitors for the entire 40-minute feature race, earning his second victory of the season.
In addition to his two TCR class wins, Michael has also finished twice in second place and scored a third place in the first six races of the 2018 Pirelli World Challenge season. Lewis’s next two races will take place in Portland, Oregon, July 13–15.
