The Laguna Beach High School Surf Team defeated Newport Harbor High School for the second time this season. LBHS surfers led the way in several divisions despite the tricky mostly close out waves at the Thursday, Oct. 13, league event held at 56th Street in Newport.

Travis Booth came out energized with a win in boys short board in the first heat of the morning while Sam Nelsen was also a standout in the heat and finished third. Dante Madrigal and Noah North finished first and third.

The top overall heat for the boys was Jeremy Shutts snagging a number of good rides for the win, followed by Kiko Nelson who barreled his way into second and Jett North finishing nicely in third. The final heat of the day saw Liam McCue and Trey Lockhart battling nicely to finish first and third.

In girls long board, Kayla Coscino took the big win for the second week in a row, followed by Grace Wellfry in second and Anika Pitz in third. Short board saw Kalohe Danbara take the win and Kayla Coscino take second.

On boys body board, Todd Vought won while Spencer Davis took fourth.

Jameson Roller had another good day in long board and took third.
