Laguna Beach Books welcomes Walter Stahr, author of “Seward: Lincoln’s Indispensable Man,” on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 5 p.m.
Stahr will appear at the local bookstore and sign his memoir about Seward, one of the 19th-century’s most important figures: progressive governor of New York, outspoken federal senator, favorite to win the 1860 Republican nomination, secretary of state during the Civil War and its aftermath, Lincoln’s closest friend and adviser and purchaser of Alaska.
There is no charge for this event, 1200 S. Coast Highway.
