Little League Juniors Division: Wells Rousts Twins

Laguna Beach Little League juniors division team Wells Fargo Advisors defeated the Lake Forest Twins 10-7 on Saturday, March 16.

Wells Fargo’s game got going in the second inning with a single by Joseph Sweet to bring in Jordon Leppo and Lucian Georges. Sweet then stole home for the third run.

In the fourth inning, Thomas came home when Schineller singled.  Dean Nunez laid down a fantastic bunt allowing Henry Schineller and Brandon Marquez to cross the plate.  Sweet hit another single to bring in Nunez and Georges totaling Wells Fargo’s runs to eight. Will Bonn scored the ninth run in the fourth off a single by Leppo.

The Twins fought back in the fifth inning, gaining three more runs but couldn’t hold on when Marquez singled in the sixth to bring in Bonn for the 10th run.

Bayley Thomas started the game on the mound for Wells Fargo with four strike-outs and allowing only one run in the first two innings for the Twins. Schineller and Bonn pitched the next four innings keeping the Twins to seven runs with the help of Dillon Gaboury and Jack Raffo with great catches in the outfield.

Marquez closed out the seventh leaving the Twins empty handed.  Wells Fargo Advisors play their next game Saturday at 10 a.m. at Alta Laguna Park.
