Mary L. Farrar, affectionately known as MiMi, passed away peacefully with family by her side Oct. 5, 2014.

She was born on Dec. 22, 1925, to Luis John and Maria Lawrence Santos in Tulare, Calif. She was raised on the family farm west of Tulare. For many years, she was employed by Sweets Drug Store in Tulare.

Mary then moved to Laguna Beach and married longtime Tulare resident William A. Farrar on June 25, 1960. They owned and operated William A. Farrar Jewelry Store in Laguna Beach.

Farrar spent many hours in her beautiful flower garden and taking care of any stray animal that might wander in. She had a great fondness for cats. During the many years spent in Laguna, she made many longtime friends living the OC life.

She is survived by her brother Louie Santos of Selma; her sister Clair Johnson of Whittier; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill and brothers John L., Daniel L, and Manuel Santos, Jr.

Farrar was always the aunt that all her nieces and nephews admired for her style and grace.

Remembrances may be made to the local S.P.C.A. or your favorite charity. Arrangements are entrusted to Miller’s Tulare Funeral Home, 151 N. “H” St., Tulare, Calif., 93274.
