A New Manager Sets Music Festival’s Tone
With the annual Laguna Beach Music Festival set for early next year, a new festival director, Laura Ricker, was recently appointed to take the reins.
Ricker worked for nine years with Western Arts Alliance, a membership association based in Portland, Ore., of touring and performing arts professionals. She has more than 16 years of experience in conference planning, musical performances, special events and festival management.
Ricker studied at the Art Institute of Chicago.
Laguna Local Hangs Out Her Shingle
Laguna Beach resident Lei Lei Wang Ekvall along with six other bankruptcy attorneys have launched a new law firm, Smiley Wang-Ekvall, LLP, based in Costa Mesa. The office will specialize in insolvency, real estate transactions and business litigation.
Wang Ekvall has served in many of the county’s legal organizations including the bar association, a bankruptcy forum and Asian American Bar Association.
Most recently she was named a top bankruptcy attorney by OC Metro Magazine and 2014 Super Lawyers’ Top Women.
