Michael Schluter, of Laguna Beach, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 1, 2015, in Laguna Beach. He was 56 years old.
Schluter was born April 12, 1959, in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., and is survived by his mother Frances Staar, his sister Corinne Tagliaferro and her husband Louis and his two nieces Tia and Marisa from Goldens Bridge, N.Y.
He attended the Art Institute in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., specializing in interior design. At age 34, Schluter moved to Southern California, living in Laguna Beach where he worked as an interior designer and visual consultant for residential and retail clients. Famous for numerous signature expressions, many of which cannot be repeated in this paper, Schluter’s outgoing personality and sense of humor attracted many close friends from coast to coast.
His favorite pastimes included travel, reading, gardening and entertaining with family and friends.
A local for over 20 years, Schluter loved the beautiful beaches and coves and could often be seen on his favorite, Victoria Beach, in a beach chair alone with a book or surrounded by friends.
We will miss you dear friend.
