A little rain did not discourage the Laguna Beach Interscholastic Mountain Bike Team from finishing the last race of the season in Temecula at just over 10 miles with a 1,300-foot climb. One high school student finished 30th out of 100, and of the nine middle school students competing in the race, one finished in the top 10.
“Thanks to all of the people who made this race season possible… “It’s a great opportunity for local students to be able to ride world-class trails right here in our backyard and be able to compete. The team not only improved their riding skills, but also learned about teamwork and how to set and achieve goals,” said Tony Zentil, team director.
The season ended with the team assisting Laguna Canyon Foundation and OC Parks with trail maintenance.Firebrand Media LLC wants comments that advance the discussion, and we need your help to accomplish this mission.
