Day of Art, May 1
Art Takes Flight at Laguna Art Museum from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, an Imagination Celebration event hosted by the museum and Laguna Outreach for Community Arts.
Families are invited for a fun-filled day of hands-on artprojects led by members of LOCA, including face painting, live music and dance performances, refreshments, the popular “Art Detective Game,” and more.
Admission is free, thanks to a donation from the Arts Council, a support group of Laguna Art Museum.
Hands-on art projects include creating your own “Lagoonies Greeting Cards,” led by Colleen Corbett and Monica Jackson; creating a “Funny Face Collage,” using bits of paper such as candy wrappers and magazine cutouts, led by Jude Taylor-Darlin; upcycling fabrics, newspapers and string to create “Earth Bags,” led by Reem Khalil; and creating sculptural “Happy Heads” with Mike Tauber, using a cardboard cylinder, fringy hair, noodles, googley eyes and more.
Laguna Art Museum is located at 307 Cliff Drive and is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week. For questions or more information, contact Jacqueline Bunge at 949-494-8971, ext. 207.
