Elizabeth Ann O’Keefe (Lizzy), 39, of Truckee, Calif., passed away on June. 7, 2023, following a brief illness. Lizzy was born in Newport Beach at Hoag Hospital on Sept. 13, 1983, to Tom and Carol O’Keefe. She grew up in Laguna Beach and graduated from Laguna Beach High School in 2000. She went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in photography from California State University Sacramento in 2008. She then moved to Truckee, Calif., and married her husband, Dana Malek, in 2016.
Lizzy loved the outdoors, camping, snowboarding and riding her dirt bike in the Sierra Mountains. She is survived by her husband, Dana of Truckee, her parents, Tom O’Keefe of Dana Point and Carol O’Keefe of Oak Park, Calif., as well as her brother, Peter O’Keefe of Newport Beach. Lizzy’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 9, at 11 a.m. at Laguna Presbyterian Church, 415 Forest Avenue, Laguna Beach.
