The former hosts of Dime Stories, local residents Michele McCormick and Ed Kaufman, invite writers to an expanded open mic experience where they can read or perform original, three-minute stories, poems or songs Sunday, June 8.The readings will take place at Laguna Beach Books, 1200 S. Coast Highway.The first event will shape the direction of future ones. Wine, cheese and conversation will flow at 5 p.m., with readings at 5:30 p.m. “We are hoping that Open Mic Night will help both new and more seasoned writers by giving them a forum to share their work,” the hosts say. Dr. Robin Berman, author of “Permission to Parent: How to Raise Your child With Love and Limits,” speaks at 6 p.m. Friday, June 6, at Laguna Beach Books.
