Cyberbullying, Sexting and Unwise Social Networking

School administrators will outline strategies and resources to help children engage in safe and responsible Internet networking on Monday, May 2 at 6 p.m. in the Laguna Beach High School Library.

The district-sponsored Parenting 2.0 presentation will provide the latest information on the nature, extent, causes, and consequences of cyberbullying along with information about sexting among adolescents.

Speakers include the district’s technology director, Victor Guthrie, Thurston Middle School Principal Joanne Culverhouse, and LBHS Asst. Principal Bob Billinger. “Students and parents alike are beginning to understand the legal and emotional ramifications for those who engage in, or are a victim of, sexting, and or cyberbullying. The parents’ role is extremely important in preventing problems,” he said.

Parents interested in attending, should RSVP to [email protected].
