Laguna Beach police released video images Friday of suspects in two separate break-ins of local businesses, including one that occurred the previous night. They are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspected culprits.

More than $8,000 worth of tools and other items were taken in a midnight burglary at Ganahl Lumber, 1765 Laguna Canyon Rd., Capt. Jason Kravetz said. Two suspects are seen on video smashing the lower portion of a glass door at Ganahl, he said. They wore hoodies over their heads as they entered the business.

Earlier, thieves shattered a front window at European Optical, 1276 S. Coast Highway, on May 10, setting off an alarm, he said. Police arrived to find shattered windows and several pairs of glasses strewn about the entryway. The loss was approximately 65 pairs of glasses valued at $13,000.

A video shows the two suspects parking behind the store prior to the burglary, police said. One of them returns to the car and obtains a tool to break the window. The second suspect wore a hoodie, which he pulled up over his head before wrapping something over his hand and punching through the window.
