As a long term resident and mother of two small children, I could not believe my eyes when I read that the closure at Park Avenue was getting extended until the end of the year.
It is infuriating to me how in recent years Laguna Beach council has started putting tourists before residents.
Park Avenue is how all of North Laguna accesses upper Laguna Beach- the high school, Thurston, Alta Laguna Park and all of Top of the World.
We don’t need to create any more draws for tourists; they already come and they already love our town. What we need to do is start taking care of our residents first. Traffic is already bad enough (year round, not just summer anymore). Please do not block one of our major thoroughfares for the betterment of a few tourists.
