About 100 people contributed $16,000 at a fundraiser for cancer-stricken Stephan Chapman last weekend at the home of Steve and Rona Gromet.
Funds will help pay for health-care deductibles and everyday living costs for the local family, organizer Michele Hall said.
Garfield Logan bid and won a custom surfboard donated by Laguna Surf and Sport, which he gave to Stephan as a gift, Hall said.
The Chapman family sincerely appreciates the community’s support, she said.
