Boys Soccer

Squad opens the season on Friday, Dec. 2, with Los Amigos and host Crean Lutheran on Wednesday, Dec. 7. Laguna was 3-7-7 last season and fifth in league play.

 

Girls Soccer

Breakers are shooting for their sixth straight trip to the post-season this year and opened the new season with a 4-1 victory over Woodbridge. This Saturday, Dec. 3, the squad faces off with a pair of tournament matches in the Ocean View Tournament meeting Laguna Hills and Fountain Valley.

Coach Bill Rolfing is in his 13th season with the girls program. Rolfing also coached the boys from 1979-83, making the 2A semifinals in 1980.

Alumni Update

Marina Paul, a standout volleyball and soccer player who graduated from LBHS in 2013, has led her college team, the Georgetown Hoyas, to their first NCAA Women’s Soccer Final Four this weekend in San Jose.

The Hoyas open play with USC on Friday, Dec. 2, at 4:30 p.m. on ESPNU. Paul is a two-time all first-team, all-Big East defender for the Hoyas and has already graduated. Currently a grad student, she is in her fourth year on the team. Should Georgetown win, the finals are Sunday, Dec. 4 at 3 p.m.
