Laguna Wine, Coffee & Specialty Foods, a retail store specializing in wine, beer and specialty food items owned by Daniel Huang, was approved at 381 Forest Ave., the former Sotheby’s office, according to the city manager’s weekly update.
The storefront will also have a coffee bar and will maintain an area for the Visitor’s Bureau to provide information to visitors about the city.
The Planning Commission last week also approved two other new downtown businesses, both of which involve the sale of fresh juices, the report says.
Jamie Jensen’s Living Juice at 384 Forest Ave., will stock fresh prepackaged juices to go. The store will specialize in fruit and vegetable juices that are refrigerated.
Nearby Nektar, approved for 272 Broadway St., currently the long-time home of Golden Spoon, will become a take-out restaurant that will feature fresh juices, smoothies made from fresh fruit and vegetables, acai bowls and raw, gluten-free and vegan snacks. Nektar is owned by Steve Schulze.
