Monday, April 1

Vandalism. 400 block of Pinecrest Dr. 4:19 p.m. Several teens are suspected of spraying graffiti on Dartmoor.

Fraud report. 200 block of S. Coast Hwy. 7:37 p.m. A bank rejected as counterfeit two $20 bills deposited by a merchant, the second phony bill incident at the business in a month.

Rape. 20600 Laguna Canyon Rd. 10:41 p.m. Staff broke up what appeared to be a sexual assault, but police ultimately detained a man and a woman only for drunkenness.

 

Tuesday, April 2

Burglary. 200 block of Hinkle Place. 11 a.m. A woman reported that her loaded Ruger LCR 38 revolver and an iPhone were stolen during a move.

Stolen vehicle. 400 block of Cliff Dr. 6:39 p.m. A Toyota Avalon was reported missing.

Traffic stop. 1200 block of Coast Hwy. 8:44 p.m. A 23-year-old woman from Westminster was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.

 

Wednesday, April 3

Traffic stop. Coast Highway. 9 a.m. A 37-year-old Rancho Santa Margarita man was arrested for a warrant for driving on a suspended license.

Grand theft. 200 block Beach St. 11:22 a.m. Two large antique pots valued at $950 were stolen overnight.

Traffic stop. 300 block of Thalia St. 8 p.m. A 61-year-old Laguna Beach man was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.

Info call. 31200 block of Brooks St. 10 p.m. A woman reports seeing the man wanted in a Los Angeles kidnapping at Main Beach between 12 and 2 p.m.

 

Thursday, April 4

Traffic stop. 200 block of Anita St. 12:13 a.m. A 47-year-old Texas visitor was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.

Fraud. 1200 block of Coronado Dr. The victim’s credit card account was used to purchase Aeromexico tickets from Mexico City to Cancun, a loss of $1,186.

Traffic collision. El Toro Rd. 1 p.m. A solo motorcyclist walked away from a fall with minor injuries but refused treatment. The road was closed to remove the motorcycle.

Fraud report. 300 block of San Tropez Ct. 1 p.m. A resident learned someone was attempting to open a credit account using her name, but was unsuccessful.

 

Friday, April 5

Grand theft. 200 block of Broadway. 6:39 a.m. A locked Specialized bike worth $3000 was stolen after 9:30 p.m. the previous night.

Traffic collision. 100 block of N. Coast Hwy. 10:38 a.m. An object falling from a car’s  dashboard prevented steering by a driver, whose vehicle collided with a tree on a sidewalk.

Citizen contact. 11:30 a.m. A father reported footprints and handprints outside his daughter’s bedroom window and suspects a peeping tom.

Fraud. 2800 blockof S. Coast Hwy. 1 p.m. A business owner reports that someone wrote $4,600 worth of fraudulent checks against their account.

Fraud. 300 block of Pinecrest Dr. 3:15 p.m. After filing her tax return electronically, the victim received a rejection letter from the IRS because a return had already been filed under her social security number, the second local incident in as many weeks.

Petty theft. 300 block of Ocean Ave. 4:36 p.m. A woman reported the theft of two  sterling silver spoons from her handbag while at a shop.

Trip fall incident. S. Coast Hwy. 5:46 p.m. A person reported suffering injuries requiring stitches to the elbow after tripping over Caltrans tools left on the sidewalk when a dog lunged at him.

Trespassing. 2400 block of Glenneyre St. 6:38 p.m. A person looking at a vacant home for sale discovered a squatter, a man dressed in women’s clothing in a kitchen area cluttered with liquor bottles.

Traffic stop. 200 block of Legion St. 9:58 p.m. A 51-year-old Laguna Beach woman was arrested for DUI and held for $2500 bail.

Vehicle burglary. 30800 block of Coast Hwy. 10:56 p.m. A purse and its contents valued at $1500 was stolen by thieves entering the passenger side front window.

 

Saturday, April 6

Robbery. 20600 Laguna Canyon Rd. 8:28 a.m. The victim reported a suspect brandished an open pocket knife and demanded his wallet and told him to leave Laguna Beach.

Warrant arrest. 200 block of Ocean Ave. Charles Lloyd Evans, 50, of Costa Mesa, was held without bail for failing to report to authorities.

Vandalism. 1700 block of S. Coast Hwy. 9:47 a.m. A Porsche gouged on the passenger side was keyed in the same manner a week ago, causing $1,600 in damage.

Vandalism. 300 block of Glenneyre St. 11:38 a.m. Someone broke off a flute from a life-sized $180,000 bronze sculpture outside of a gallery.

Traffic stop. 500 block of S. Coast hwy. 9:31 p.m. A 22-year-old from Anaheim was cited for DUI and driving on a suspended license.

 

Sunday, April 7

Traffic stop. Cajon St. 1:23 a.m. A 47-year-old Huntington Beach man was cited for DUI and held for $2500 bail.

Burglary. 31500 block of S. Coast Hwy. 3:42 a.m. Burglars entered through a screen on a ground-floor back window, but apparently took nothing though cabinets were opened.

Biker down. Alta Laguna Blvd. 11 a.m. A bicyclist who lost consciousness about a mile from Top of the World was airlifted for medical treatment to a Mission Viejo hospital.

Animal calls. Ocean Front at Cress St. 2:11 p.m. A 34-year-old Laguna Beach woman was cited for misdemeanor cruelty to animals after a witness reported seeing her clip the wings of a dove. The bird is expected to survive.
