Sapphire Cultivates its Own Food Fare

Azmin Ghahreman, chef of Laguna Beach’s Sapphire restaurant, is organizing a second Sapphire Food Fare Saturday, Nov. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Laguna Niguel’s St. Anne School, 32451 Bear Brand Rd.


Sapphire Food Fare is a farmers market offering farm-fresh produce and herbs, artisanal breads, cheeses and chocolates, organic grass-fed beef, fresh seafood and local varietal honeys.


Chefs will be on-hand to demonstrate recipes and provide samplings, while nutritionists will share advice on how to eat healthier as families.





Katsuya Lures Locals With Half Off


From now through Dec. 31, Katsuya, 858 S. Coast Highway, is offering 50 percent off the entire menu every Monday fro 5-10 p.m.


Diners can indulge in house favorite cocktails, sushi, sake, beer and dessert items for half price and enjoy the newly installed flatscreen TV for Monday night football games.


Learn Wine Pairing for the Holiday


To prepare for the holiday season, UC Irvine is offering a two-session pairing of food and wine course beginning Nov. 7, which will teach participants how to select the wine most complimentary to holiday meals.

Sapphire Cooks Up Thanksgiving’s Feast


Restaurant Sapphire will be offering a three-course pre-fixed menu for those either wishing to dine out or pick up a Thanksgiving meal prepared by Chef Azmin Ghahreman.


Featured dine-in main dishes include pork shank, turkey, lamb, pan sea bass, and beef tenderloin.


The 10-item pick up Thanksgiving meal includes turkey, cous cous salad and apple pie.
