The toil, tears and sweat known as SchoolPower’s Dodgeball Tournament V will fill the Laguna Beach High School gyms on Wednesday, Oct. 15. Thirty-two junior division teams will start competing at 3:15 p.m. and the 24-team adult division begins at 5:30 p.m.

The Laguna Beach Lifeguards will return to defend their two-time championship title in the adult/high school division.

Teams must have six to eight members with at least two players of the opposite gender. Registration fees are $15- $40 per person, and players are encouraged to organize now as the event has a history of selling out. “Last fall, the elementary division closed in three hours,” said dodgeball co-chair Elaine Brashier.

Besides bragging rights, winners of each bracket receive $500 to designate to the school program of their choice. “High school students can put the money toward their sports team or favorite club,” suggested event co-chair Frana Sadler. “Teachers and parents can give their winnings to any department or program in the school district.”

To register your team – and to pre-order food from the taco truck- please goes to http://www.lbschoolpower.org or call 949-494-6811.
