Members of the Boys & Girls Club gained real-world work experience while partnering with their local Taco Bell for a fundraiser on Saturday, May 5, in support of the club’s Keystone Teen Leadership Program.

The teens had the opportunity to sell a menu item they created at last summer’s Taco Bell Business Camp, the “Encheeselada.” A portion of the proceeds from sales are to assist the teens participate in a national leadership conference.

Teens were put to work behind the counter alongside Taco Bell staff to learn jobs such as managing the register, expediting orders, and customer relations. Other teens promoted their product by dressing up in a Taco Bell “Sauce Packet” and “Taco” costume. Harmony Lynn, 15, said, “management told me I did so well that I was offered a job when I turn 16!”

The local Taco Bell also supports the club by contributing food to family events. Its foundation’s mission dovetails with club goals helping teens reach their full potential.
