Attorney Bob Whalen, a planning commissioner and former school board member, begins his campaign for City Council with a $99 per person sunset reception Thursday, June 14, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Rooftop Lounge of La Casa Del Camino Hotel, 1289 S. Coast Highway.

Contributions may be made prior to the reception via the website or by check, mailed ahead with an RSVP or at the door. Â Supporters who have donated the $360 maximum per person are welcome to attend as guests of the campaign.
Whalen’s host committee includes former Chamber of Commerce President Chris Keller, business owner and philanthropist Donnie Crevier, business owner Mark Christy, designer-builder Gregg Abel, business owner and former Laguna Art Museum President Lou Rohl, architects Morris Skenderian and Kirk Saunders, former school board member El Hathaway, PTA leader Peggy Wolff and school board member Ketta Brown.
