Local Wins in Mountain Bike Race

Thurston Middle School student Brady White, 13, raced into first place in the Non-Dot Adventures XC mountain biking race on Saturday, May 19.

Brady raced the Sport Class 19 and under division in Aliso & Wood Canyon Wilderness Park & Laguna Niguel Regional Park for the win.

Brady is also the current points leader in the Over the Hump series among boys 12-15.

Brady and his brother Dylan will be traveling to Whistler Canada this summer for down hill mountain bike training.

Flag Football Players Remain on the Field

The Laguna Beach flag football team Cowboys won the seventh-eighth grade division championship of the South Orange County Friday Night Lights Football League this past Friday, May 18, with a 21-0 win in Mission Viejo.

The Cowboys finished their season 11-0. “This team has raised the bar in SOC flag football. They are the best I’ve seen here at this level,” said League Commissioner Keith Marsicola in a statement.

Cowboys will advance to play in FNL’s regional Tournament of Champions in Los Alamitos on June 2.
