Young Diver Returns to Nationals

For the second year in a row, Laguna Beach resident Mackenzie Peasley has qualified for the U.S. Diving Junior West national championships.

Mackenzie represented Crown Valley Divers at the spring Region 9 championship in Arizona on March 19-20. Only the top six competitors advance to the western competition held in Lubbock, Texas, April 8-10. Mackenzie, who qualified, placed fourth of 19 girls on the one-meter and fifth of 17 girls on the three- meter dives.

Youngster Wins Gymnastics Meet

Danielle Gagne, 8, a Top of The World third-grader, competed in her first USAIGC Gymnastics meet and won first place all-around in the 7-9 age division bronze level with a final score of 36.75.

She scored three firsts and a third in uneven bars, vault, balance beam and floor exercise.
