Hamilton Wins Tournament

Teague Hamilton

Laguna Beach High School junior Teague Hamilton won his first boys 18-and-under tournament in Upland on Monday, Aug. 15.

Teague, unseeded in this tournament, initially faced No. 3 seed Marcus Nalley (7-5, 7-5).  He went on to also beat top seed Tomas E. Aranguiz (6-1, 6-1) in the semi-finals and the second seed from Hidden Hills (6-2, 6-2) in the finals.

Teague and Taylor Nederlander, another LBHS junior, represented the Southern California Tennis Association in the USTA Intermountain Zone Team Championships in Salt Lake City, Utah, last month.

While the 95-degree plus heat and the 4,200-foot elevation presented a challenge, the Southern California teams prevailed with Teague’s team, Vertigo, and Taylor’s team, High Rustler, taking 1st and 2nd in the 12-team competition.
