The Blue Lagunas became the first team from Pacific Soccer Club and the first Laguna Beach based soccer team to advance to the State Cup last month. When the dust cleared, the team in the under 12 division had survived three games in their initial pool, followed by six elimination games to find themselves in the finals.
Held annually since 1978, the Cal South State Cup is one of the largest youth soccer tournaments with 76 clubs from San Luis Obispo to Coachella Valley competing.
