Yve Evans & Company Plays Hotel Laguna

Yve Evans performs outdoors next Wednesday at Hotel Laguna.

Laguna Beach Live! welcomes back keyboardist and vocalist Yve Evans with her band to their popular Jazz Wednesdays series on July 6 in the outdoor Rose Garden of the Hotel Laguna, 425 S. Coast Highway.

 Evans’ band is comprised of accomplished musicians. Each performance shows a dedication to the tradition and understanding of jazz and its repertoire.

There is a $10 cover charge for the 6-8 p.m. concert. Doors open at 5:15 p.m. and food and beverages are available for purchase. Use PayPal online at www.lagunabeachlive.org or call 949-715-9713. 

Creative Play at Pure Light

Pure Light Candle Studios of Laguna Beach in collaboration with Charlotte Backman of Mandala Vision will be featuring a series of art classes during block party week, July 6-11, where merchants in the 400 block of Coast Highway are celebrating the area’s resurgence.

These classes are being offered to kick off the Community Mandala Charity Project being held at Pure Light in July, benefiting the Surfrider Foundation.  “Everyone Can Make Art” aims to encourage the artist in all of us to come out this summer. Candle making classes will run daily along with Backman’s classes.

Mandala design: Thursday, July 7, 10 a.m. -12 p.m. for adults. $55, including materials (with colored pencils). Learn design, layout and shading techniques. Also July 8, $65, with acrylic paints.

Glass Plate Decoupage: Thursday and Friday, July 7 and 8, 1-3 p.m. for adults, $65, including materials.

Tissue Paper Collage Mandalas: Saturday, July 9, 10 a.m. -12 p.m., for kids 7 and up, with adults. $50, including materials.

    Great overview! We love the OC. One of our favorite Laguna Beach hotels is Pacific Edge. It’s in a great location right on the water and has such a laid-back vibe.
