Surf Team Finds its Peaks

Laguna Beach High School’s surf team swept the team competition against St Margaret’s High School in a competition at San Clemente Pier last Saturday.

We and moved the entire Laguna team through into the individual competition in each of the divisions with 5 High schools competing. The surf was pretty fun, glassy, little peaks next to the south side of the pier and

The Laguna crew went to work, ripping both lefts and rights in the various heats. Many do double duty between divisions.

Blair Conklin again won the body board final and finished fifth on short board.

With other Laguna girls out with sickness and injury, Coco Putnam won the girls’ shortboard and took third in the longboard.

Tyler Cassill and Cameron DePfyffer took second and third respectively in shortboard, with Cameron also fourth in the Longboard contest.

Also in longboard, Tobie Grierson came in with the win and Eric Siegrist took third.

Other shortboard surfers, Austin Silvers and Cameron Zuziak all had some great heats.
