The Indy’s coverage of the Park Plaza controversy seems one-sided. There is a huge local backlash against this ill-advised project that doesn’t seem to be sufficiently represented in the Indy. The parklet supporters are a small and noisy minority.
The Indy seems to be all-in in support of what I call “Pork” Plaza for the ridiculous misuse of public funds by the city (another $750,000 according to your article), not to mention exacerbating the traffic bottlenecks caused by closing this escape valve to TOW and Temple Hills. And creating yet another venue for our homeless population. This concept might work in France and Italy, but it won’t work here the way our visionaries hope.
