Doug Miller will again serenade pancake flippers and customers on Labor Day.

The public is invited to mark the end of summer among friends at the Monday, Sept. 5, Labor Day Exchange Club pancake breakfast in Heisler Park.

Firefighters will be flipping flapjacks from 7 to 11 a.m. on Cliff Drive at Myrtle Street. Off duty police personnel will be handing out donuts and coffee. Fairy Jessica de Stefano will be handing out watermelon pops. A $5 donation is asked.

Picnic table diners will be serenaded by violinist Doug Miller and greeted by the town’s home-grown hero Skipper Carrillo, who will be wishing you a home run day.

Flags will be given out following our very own firefighter and bag piper Dave Lopez, says Sande St. John, an Exchange Club member who organizes the breakfast with donations from the White House and Las Brisas restaurants.

Veterans receive a complementary breakfast, she said.
