Struggling Orange County youth, adults and families caught up in the justice system and facing their greatest time of need have a new leader advocating on their behalf. Ronnetta Johnson assumed the role of executive director Nov. 1 at Community Service Programs Inc., which operates a youth shelter in Laguna Beach and provides other services in the county.
She succeeds Margot R. Carlson, a long-time Laguna Beach resident, who died in July. Carlson, 85, held the role of executive director of Community Service Programs since 1986.
Johnson, of Mission Viejo, most recently led CSP’s victim assistance programs. She started with the organization in 1995 overseeing two rape crisis centers and support groups. She was promoted to director of human resources in 2001 and was named woman of the year in 2006 by the California Assembly District 71.Firebrand Media LLC wants comments that advance the discussion, and we need your help to accomplish this mission.
